As Jinnah managed to win two we need to be cautious on Saturday.
Sunday the HCC crowd will have a tough choice on their hand. Encouraging HCC 2 stealing two points of Kieviten 1 and remain in the race for winning Eerste Klasse or following HCC 1 playing away to Quick Haag 1 struggling to make it to the play offs. Surely an interesting match for both Kieviten and HCC supporters. We hope many will come down to HCC and cheer for us.

Although Asvion is leading in 2A Kieviten II's will certainly put up a good fight. Basically we need to bring in enough points to get passed VOC 3 to secure our position in 2A.

Kieviten has pulled this trick so many times. With five more matches to go we can still realise our aim of this season. First XI top three and second XI half the table in 2A.
Come on Lapwings & Forza Kieviten!

Some of us remember Ryan as the angry bowler that dismantled our batting order, with a bit of help from umpire Baay Lubbers, at Bloemendaal five years ago.
[kieviten yahoo topic]: Tour 2008
JAMIE O'SULLIVAN
Hi Gents,
Not sure if you guys would be up for it, but I thought I would float the idea of a pre-season tour of South-East Asia for April 2008. I realise that it would be a great deal more expense than the usual tours we've been having in recent years, but I remember when we used to tour England and many people said that no-one would go for the idea of a Southern Europe tour as it would be too expensive. 4 years on we have been to Malta, Marbella and Menorca twice. I know we have struggled for players
a little in the last two years, but if we could get 7 or 8 Kievits, a couple of 'Peter Morans / John Sists' then myself and the prince of Delhi could help fill the final spots, and worst case a couple of the local lads here would be more than happy to join the fun ! It could even be the first true family tour if you so wished and wives and girlfriends could be catered for to. Up to you really. The tour would need to be slightly longer than the 'week' we have spent in Southern Europe with 10 days being more realistic.
I could set you up with cricket in Singapore (1, 2 or 3 games), Hong Kong (1 or 2 games) Vietnam (Saigon) and The Phillipines (Manila) without too much trouble and there are also plenty more alternatives. There are even cheap flights from here to one or two places in Australia.
As I said, it would clearly be noticably more expensive than the standard jaunt down to the Med, but would obviously be a once in a lifetime tour to remember. I know a lot of the clubs that tour out here do a tour fund where people put in around 30-50 euros a week between now and the tour and lo and behold by the time it comes around it is virtually paid for.
Anyway, give it some thought and discuss over one or two summer Hoegaardens on a Haagse or Amsterdaamse terrace. Obviously if I was going to try and get things set up for you I would need some reasonable notice, so would need you to give a yay or nay by the end of your cricket season ish.
Right now I'm to sit on the sofa and watch the final burial of the England team. I fear the goat is already skinned and on the fire.
Cheers,
Sully

KEVIN TASKER
Hi Jamie & all Kieviten Lowland Dwellers,
I not sure how much use I would be as cricket player but I would still like to express my interest in
playing on a tour in and around Singers. Say for the first 15 minutes before I injure myself!
You'd better start the beer fund now given the price of Grog in Singers.

ANTON JOINER
Vagrant, feral cricket. Highly appealing, therefore making me a distinct possibility.
Anton Joiner

Blimey ! That's 4 takers for the Kievit Asia tour already without anyone from Holland !!!!
And what a side it is shaping up to be.............
Kevin Tasker - Legendary injuries
Jamie O'Sullivan - Legendary noodle eating ability
Anton Joiner - Legendary shirts
Anmol Sud - Just legend!
I feel a top tour coming together! Come on boys....roll out the airmiles !!!
Sully
PS - Ben 'Man of the World' Cocker is surely another likely tourist !!
JAMIE O'SULLIVAN

Sunandan Ray is coming to Wassenaar between August 14 - 21.
ROLAND WIGMAN
Dear all,
I just returned from holiday and saw these messages. I look forward to a reunion of "may the fourth be with you" and to seeing you all. I wonder where I have been these years, everybody is talking about kids going to university ..., well I have two lovely kids, my daughter will turn seven this winter and my son will celebrate his 5th birthday in November: university is yet a long way to go.
I am not available on Friday the seventeenth and most likely not available in the weekend. However, I can make it to the Kieviten (or anywhere else) on 14, 15 or 16th! Maybe it is possible to organise a late afternoon/ early evening mixed six-a-side or something?
Best wishes to all,
Roland
COEN KERKHOVEN
Dear Roland and others,
It would be great to have a "may the fourth be with you" reunion. I too would look forward to meeting everybody. Just reading the mail about Sunandan coming to Holland brings back a lot of fond memories. Would love to talk to everybody and see how they are doing after all this time. My kids will naturally go to university too, but that's an even longer wait than Roland's: my daughter turns 6 in oktober and my son will be 4 in January. So Roland and I are in the same "middelbare school-league". And I would like to know if Coen (our mascotte) stille exists and if so, if anybody has any clue about his whereabouts.
However, I am not able to attend any reunion in August (probably not back in Holland before the 1st of September). If it really goes through, I wish everybody an enjoyable reunion and good luck and I hope to meet with and talk to my former team mates somes other time. But please keep me posted anyway if some get-together is planned. If the fourth is with me I might fly in at the last moment.
By the way Roland, I am in Kitzbühel right now and I just met a friend of yours: Robert Weijerman. Also a real "Leidenaar". We enjoyed a couple of good rounds of golf together.
Many cheers,
Coen

Perhaps this is a good opportunity to arrange this Old Kieviten - Kieviten match?
What do you think Matt & Dom Birch?
Cheers,
